HLD Lumpreducer

The Dependable Foundry Equipment Company High Level Discharge Lumpreducer (HLD)
has been desined to perform lumpreducing, conveying, srcreening, and primary metal separation
as the first stage of reclamation of chemically bonded sands.

Operation

The lumpreducer is capable of accepting hot incoming sand and lumps from the foundry's demolding area. The unit may be charged in any number of ways including via a front end loader.

Vibratory forces, provided by twin, direct mounted, eccentric adjustable weight type vibratory motors, are imparted upon the sand and lumps.

This energy not only disintegrates lump sand into grains, but also helps to abrade the resin film from the sand while, at the same time, elevating the grain size material toward the high level discharge outlet.

Tramp metal (larger than 1/16") is retained in the attrition chamber for periodic clean out at predetermeind intervals.

Specification

Units are available from 1 to 20 tons per hour.

Throughput may vary according to the type of binder process being used, the ration of lump sand to grain size sand, sand-to-metal ratio, and the loading efficiency. The HLD Lumpreducer operates to maximum capacity when approximately two-thirds full.

The setting of the weights n the vibratory motors can be used to impart high or low centrifugal forces to the sand and lumps.

When processing high temperature sand it will be necessary to water cool the mounting surfaces of the bibratory motors. Consult DF when Processing High Temp Sand.

Construction

The attrition chamber contains two screening decks and wear plates designed for long life, easy removal and simple replacement. The unit is base mounted upon rubber isolators which provide extremely efficient isolation of vibration from the mounting frame.

Installation

The HLD Lumpreducer may be used in certain instances as a complete sand reclaimer.

The Hld Lumpreducer performs the functions of metal separation and lump reduction as preliminary stages of a complete sand reconditioning system that includes scrubbing, cooling, and classifying.
