San-Rec-Pak systems are modular by design and can be configured to fit your layout. Compact San-Rec-Paks, like the design shown, can be supplied with all functions from lumpreducing to cooling to dust collection on a single frame for easy transport and installation.
In other larger installations some basic layout rules apply: It is normally advantageous to keep the distance from the Vibraclaim or Lumpreducer to the Rotaclaim as short as possible and to use a heat resistant elevator to supply a feed hopper above the Rotaclaim. Often, the hopper is divided to receive new and used sand so new sand additions can be introduced through the Rotaclaim.
The Rotaclaim is installed directly above the shaker screen, which is usually located inside the cooler/classifier body to save space and control dust. If a pneumatic transporter is used to convey sand from the cooler, it will require a pit unless the cooler is elevated.
The accompanying layouts are fully adaptable to fit within available space.
Here Are Some Reasons Why You Should Buy
Dependable Attrition Reclaimers
Theoretical Loss on Ignition
Assumptions for this System
- Ration of Sand WT. to Gross Metal WT. 3:1
- Castings of Iron or Steel
- Dry Attrition San-Rec-Pak
- Binder Content 1.2%
- Catalyst is 30% of Binder Weight
- Sand at Mixer 90% Reclamation 10% New
- Binder Remaining After Reclamation 55%
Max LOI Afer Reclamation LOI Entering Mixer
P = (T x B) / [1 - (R x T)] P = C x T x R
T Fraction of Binder Remaining After Reclamation = 55%
B Total Binder/Catalyst Addition = 1.% + (30% x 1.2%) =1.56%
R Fraction of Sand Reused = 90%
C* Total Binder Content = B + LOI @ Mixer from Previous Cycle

Fraction of Binder Left After Reclaim = 55% or .55 |
|
|
Example: with a 3:1 sand to Metal Ratio 60/S:M = Binder Removed at Casting or 60/3 = 20%.
In addition, 25% of the Binder is Removed at Reclamation.
Thus Total Binder Removed = 20% + 25% = 45% |
B = |
Total Binder Addition = 1.56% or .0156 |
|
|
With 1.2% binder and 30% Catalyst.
(Catalyst is 30% of binder Weight). |
R = |
Fraction of Sand Reused = 90% or .9 |
|
|
With 90% Reclaimed Sand |
P = (.55 X .0156) / [1-(.9 X .55)]
P = .8580 / .505
P = .01699
LOI = 1.699% |
